Privacy Policy
This privacy policy applies to the applications "Scry", "Purdue Bricks Demo", and "Immersive Purdue Demo" (hereby referred to as "Application") offered by Purdue University as Free services. The services are intended for use "AS IS".
Information We Collect
If you provide us feedback or contact us via email, we will collect your name and email address, as well as any other content included in the email. When you participate in one of our surveys, we may collect additional profile information. We also collect other types of personal information and demographic information that you provide to us voluntarily.
We also collect data that has been provided by you the user such as:
- First name
- Last name
- Email address
- Login
The Application does not gather precise information about the location of your mobile device.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
We store information that we collect to create trend data for application usage. We may use your interactions within the Application to conduct research on the use of the Application and to improve the content of the Application for you. Purdue University does not sell, rent or disclose your profile outside of the Application or to any third party not affiliated with the university. Information in anonymous, aggregated form may be shared for research and demonstration purposes. This information does not identify individual users.
Legal Disclaimer
We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on Purdue University.
Log Files
As is true of most applications, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, device type, internet service provider (ISP), operating system, date/time stamp, and click stream data.
We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the Application, to track users’ aggregate actions in the app and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole.
Links
The Application may contain links to other sites that are not owned or controlled by Purdue University. Please be aware that Purdue University is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage you to be aware when you leave the Application and to read the privacy statements of each and every site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies only to information collected by the Application.
The Application may also present links in a format that enables us to keep track of whether these links have been followed. We use this information to improve the quality of our services.
Security
We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its security.
